Final Season disk.

Game 7 played under protest - details to follow in separate post

2016 TRHL World Series Recap – Forsyth Outlaws 113-49 vs Being Don Mattingly 114-48

Game 1 Yankee Stadium: Justin Verlander (17-10, 3.06) vs. Noah Syndergaard (23-3, 1.85)

BDM jumps to an early 4-0 lead in the 2nd on HRs by Cano (solo) and Dietrich (2 runs), and 3 singles capped by an Inicarte RBI. Outlaws get a run in the 6th on a Murphy HR, BDM answers with 2 in the bottom of the frame on a Trumbo HR, and a Cozart RBI double, to stay up 6-1. In the 7th, it all threatens to come apart for BDM. Syndergaard give up an IF single and a walk with one out. Boshers relieves him and immediately gives up a 3-run HR to Gutierrez. He is relieved by Cahill who gives up a solo shot to Murphy. Strickland finals comes in and ends the inning. In the 8th Vizcaino walks 2, but wriggles out of trouble, and Walt Davis pitches the 9th for a SV

Final BDM 6-5 W-Syndergaard, L-Verlander, SV – Davis, HR Murphy 2, Cano, Dietrich, Trumbo

Game 2 Yankee Stadium: Rich Hill (15-2, 1.50 ) vs. J.A. Happ (18-7, 2.74)

Both pitchers threw goose eggs through 4. Forsyth broke the ice on a Lorenzo Cain HR in the top of the 5th. Mattingly answered immediately with 2 singles and a 3-run Springer HR in the bottom of the frame. The rest of the game was Happ, as he cruised to the CG on only 88 pitches. BDM tacked on runs in the 6th, 7th, and 8th.

Final BDM 7-1 W Happ (CG), L Hill, HR Cain, Springer

Game 3 Oakland Coliseum: John Gray (16-6 3.65) vs. Madison Bumgarner (13-9, 3.00)

A very taught pitchers’ duel. BDM scored a single run in the 4th on a Cano single. Forsyth tied it in the 7th on a Mallex Smith double off Vizcaino, and won it in the 9th on a LeMahieu single off Madson.

Final Forsyth 2-1 W Bush, L Madson, HR none

Game 4 Oakland Coliseum: (Conley 16-5 2.30) vs. Verlander

Another exceptional pitchers’ duel. Conley and 6 BDM relievers hurl a SHO. The only run comes in the 4th on a Machado double, and a Cano RBI single.

Final BDM 1-0 W Conley, L Verlander, SV Davis, HR none

Game 5 Oakland Coliseum: Syndergaard vs. Gonzalez (6-4 3.83 ERA)

BDM opens the scoring in the 3rd with 3 runs on a BB, HBP, and 2 singles. Forsyth gets one back in the bottom of the frame on a Murphy single, and another in the 6th on a Kiermaier double. Forsyth takes the lead in the 7th, scoring 3, as Matz and Davis give up 3 BBs and 2 singles without recording an out. BDM gets one back in the 8th, but that’s it.

Final Forsyth 5-4 W Strahm, L Matz, SV Bush, HR none

Game 6 Yankee Stadium: Hill vs Happ

Tight extra inning game, scoreless through 5.5. BDM gets 2 in the 6th on a Machado 2-run HR. Outlaws come back. Donaldson homers in the 7th to make it 2-1, and Murphy singles home Cain in the 8th to tie it. It’s then goose eggs in the 9th and 10th, until W. Davis absolutely implodes in the top of the 11th. The inning goes single, BB, PB, balk (run), walk, before he’s pulled. Then Madson relieves and allows a SF, a Lucroy HR, and a Crawford triple before ending the carnage.

Final Forsyth 7-2 (11) W Johson, L Davis, HR Donaldson, Lucroy, Machado

Game 7 Yankee Stadium: Verlander vs. Gray (played under protest by BDM)

Another incredibly tight game. BDM scores the only run of the game on a Machado double in the bottom of the first. Gray, Davis and Strickland throw 9 clean (despite 3 BBs from Davis).

Final BDM 1-0, Series 4-3 W Gray, L Verlander, SV Strickland, HR none

Game 7 classic

Imagine what a classic of tension Game 7 would have been.

Indeed. Manager Arthur is thrown out ... in the first inning! Bench coach, Greg, is forced to decide what to do about the platoon situation and controversially, I'm sure, decides NOT to make the switch right away. Twitter is exploding. Then this idiot bench coach brings in his closer, who has struggled all series, in the SIXTH inning with runners on 1st and 3rd with two outs. What!? Twitter ceases to exist. Meanwhile, Arthur is in the club house, still fuming.

And after all that drama in the first, not a single run is scored for the rest of the game. Series goes to Being Don Mattingly! The champagne spray in the club house likely cooled Arthur down a bit. Afterward, Arthur vows to never to interact with the Outlaws again. Twitter returns from the dead to spend all off-season wondering how this will play out in the subsequent season. They pray for a BDM-Outlaws re-match in the following World Series. But, wait, Whitecaps owner, Craig, vows that will NEVER happen, as he declares Being Don Mattingly shall never make it to the World Series. Twitter is in love with him for such a promise.

The TRHL has never been so popular.

I wouldn't have been in the clubhouse Greg. I would have been in jail after chasing Bill with a bat. It would have been Marichal-Roseboro all over again. My wife has never seen me that angry. She thought my new medication was messing with my mind.

Thanks Charles! Definitely a full share.

Meanwhile, Outlaws management bids a fond farewell to all the former Outlaws crowding up the locker room for this year's new incoming blood. Nothing new in Forsyth, as no one even remembers who the veterans of the Outlaws first WS appearance are since management returned to the league. They have gotten used to hanging pennants and the occasional WS banner, though.

GM Liming, packs up the laptop with the spreadsheets (3x5 cards are so old school, though he does keep a handful in a tattered copy of [www.amazon.com]), after adding a sheet for the unwritten rules updates that are no doubt coming, and making a note to give the Whitecaps a ring to discuss next year's WS planning.

I'd have the league's lawyer help you with your jailing, Arthur, but he's currently in hot water with the feds regarding his other clients: Trump, Broidy, and Hannity.

I think it's time we seek alternate counseling.
