MPs ready for Series 10: Chinook, Breakers

Really excellent series between two good teams.

In the first game the Marauders jump to an early 4-0 lead against a struggling Rick Porcello, while Chris Archer had a no-hitter through three innings. The Hares chip away with three in the fourth and then another in the fifth to tie it up. Victorino puts Munchen back in front with a solo HR off of Juan Perez in the top of the seventh but Brett Cecil couldn't hold the lead giving up a HR from Jayson Nix in the bottom of the inning. Worse, that was followed by a Trout walk, a sacrifice bunt that moved him to second, a sacrifice fly to advance him to third, and then a wild pitch from Blake Parker to bring him home and steal the lead. The Marauders hit into double plays in the eighth and the ninth to seal the victory as the Hares steal a game they didn't deserve to win, scoring six runs on only six hits to win 6-5.

Game Two was a great pitchers duel as Sonny Gray put up zeros for seven innings. Perez gives up another HR to cough up another lead, this time to Scott Van Slyke to put Munchen up in the top of the eighth inning. In the bottom of the frame however, the Hares send 11 men to the plate and score seven runs, six of them with two out, highlighted by a Paul Goldschmidt grand slam. Hares win 7-2.

Game Three pit the two aces against each other, Jose Fernandez against Matt Harvey. Once again the Marauders took an early lead with two runs in the top of the first inning. That holds up until the fourth when Mike Trout hit a solo HR. Three singles later, Carlos Quentin just beat the throw home to tie the game. The starters put up zeros until the eighth inning when it was the bullpens turn once again. This time David Wright hit the game winning HR off of Blake Parker.

The Hares sweep all three games, coming from behind each time.

Game 1: Glovers recover from a 4-0 deficit, to win 5-4 in the bottom of the ninth.

Game 2: Gee outduels Delgado in a 4-2 win for the Outlaws

Game 3: Ross shuts down the Glovers over 8, and Carpenter closes it out, in a 2-0 win for the Outlaws.
