2018 Series 01
Greg Tamer - March 24, 2019 10:08PM
|
|
|
TRHL Owners,
Series 00 has been completed. League file attached.
Long term contracts signed thus far:
1. Chinook - Alex Bregman
2. NRIs - Chris Sale
REMINDER - LTC signing deadline is Sunday, March 31st, 10 PM EDT.
Teams starting as *visitors* that have not posted season-start MPs: Breakers, Rogers, Wagstaffs, Rotisserie* (Crabtree e-mailed; invalid roster when importing MP), Pirates, Mudhens, Pale Hose
WARNING - First half visiting teams have until Tuesday night, 10 PM EDT to post MPs and instructions. Failure to do so will result in a harsh e-mail from me asking you why the TRHL isn't your #1 priority in life. Then I'll let the stupid, imbecilic, moronic DMB computer manager generate an MP for you.
Results not submitted: N/A
(*) - Backup results submitted
(**) - Notified in advance
Automatic farmings due to overuse: None
Transactions:
1. Outlaws sign Mikie Mahtook and Rio Ruiz, release Chris Shaw and Michael Hermosillo.
2. Anunnaki sign Bartolo Colon, release Jose Miguel Fernandez.
3. Marauders sign Austin Davis and Juan Nicasio.
Injuries (> 3 days):
None
MPs *likely* ready for Series 01: Not going to assume. Reach out to your opponent this week and communicate regarding all six games!
Again, rules of game play:
1. Do not play a series as the home team without first receiving a season start MP from the visiting team owner. Check the message board especially for posted MPs. After Series 01, please e-mail visiting owner if MP not listed as ready.
2. Always check the opposing team's rotation; pitchers should not start tired unless stated otherwise by manager.
3. Honor system here; do not restart games once they've started unless there is an obvious mistake discovered immediately upon starting (e.g., see #2 above, you accidentally let a tired pitcher start for opposing team)
4. You must have 25 active players at all time. No more. No less.
Reminder - we are switching to home-and-away six-game series each week against the same opponent.
Deadlines - 1st half deadline for first three games is Thursday, March 28th, 10 PM EDT. 2nd half deadline is Sunday, March 31st, 10 PM EDT.
Series 01 league file has been posted and the League File link on the website has been updated.

Thanks for playing.

Game 1, Tyler O'Neill comes off the bench in the 8th and celebrates his first at-bat in the Three Run Homer league to hit a three-run homer and extend the lead to 9-4
Game 2, tied at 3-3 bottom of the 8th when José Martínez breaks the tie with a solo.
Game 3, getting even closer as we go to extra innings tied at 1-1. Bottom of the 10th, it's Adam Eaton's turn to go yard.
Home sweep in exciting series.

Outlaws MP should be good, rotation should be Anderson, Godley, Verlander. Pitcher bats 8th, so when you load lineups please bump pitcher up a spot and #8 down 1.

Home squad turns out strong for the opening series, sweeping the visiting Matts. DeGrom whiffs 11 in a losing effort in the opener. Unfortunately, BDM's Posey is injured in a home plate collision in game 2 (he did hold on to get the out).

Game 1: An ugly mess, as Manaea gets the win for Mississauga despite giving up four homers. Sheilds and Hoskins are ejected, after a brawl in the third. Final score 10-7.
Game 2: Sale and Flaherty each throw 7 shutout innings, but the NRI get a run in the 8th, when Puig homers off of Cimber. Portland wins 1-0.
Game 3: Portland and Mississauga each manage only four hits, but two of those by the McCallions are homers. Junior Guerra goes the distance, as Missisauga shuts out the NRI 3-0.

Breakers visit Terriers
CBB take first game behind Patrick Corbin and 3 relievers 3-1 as Breakers get single runs in 1st 3rd and 4th.
Terriers slip in and out of ties through 9 in game two with Alston getting run in bottom 9 to send to extras on correa rbi single and then Alston gets the walk off win in 11th on Contreras' HR Alston 4 CBB 3
Game three Terriers push across 3 in bottom 2nd and Trevor Richards is cruising into 8th with a 3 hit shut out when Breakers get a pair of one out singles and Altuve breaks up the shutout with a blast over the Green Monster. Game goes into extras as neither team can capitalize on 9th inning runners and Profar lines a game winning single in bottom of 10th to end this one Alston 4-3

Sisskiyou Rotisserie - March 29, 2019 01:11PM
|
|
|
Rotisserie has an exciting start to the season.
Come from behind to win Game One 5-3.
We lost Game Two 4-3 as we couldn't overcome the three run first off of the deposed King Felix.
Game Three was wild. Rotisserie scores in each of the first three, including two HR from Bogearts, and Buehler was dealing. Outlaws score two in the sixth off Walker to make it 3-2, and there it should have stayed, except Josh Hader earns his second blown save of the year, and Outlaws tie it up. NINE INNINGS LATER, in the top of the 18th, with the Rotisserie down to an empty bullpen, and an empty bench, last man standing Keone Kela was over the sixty pitch point when Forsythe finally breaks through, scoring two. With the light hitting bottom of the order due up, you'd think it would be game over, but Newman singles to start the inning, comes home on a Pollock double, and then the obvious player of the game Xander Bogearts makes it clear that he is the man today, hitting a two run homer, his third of the game, to make it a 6-5 walk-off.
Game Three also saw a pair of injuries. Albert Almora is out for another six games for Forsythe, and Cespedes is out for another three for Siskiyou, though he has yet to get a hit, so probably no big loss.
Rotisserie MP is NOT ready for series 03.
Oh, and some housecleaning. I've been calling this series "series 02," since it's the second, but it looks like we start counting at 00? Is that right? So this series is actually series 01?
One more question. In situations like my Game Three where I'm out of relievers, I believe it's permitted to use a guy with a starter rating only? Archer was the only other available pitcher. Could I have used him once my relievers were all spent?

You can always use any pitcher in relief or to start in the regular season. The only limit on pitcher use is on playoffs starts.

G1: 4-1 Aaron Nola w/ the quality start and the GWRBI
G2: 6-2 Chinook overcome early deficit via Trout 2-run HR. Berrios pitches great.
G3: 9-2 Another 2-run bomb from Trout but a Gregorius slam in the 4th propelled Chinook to sweep.

There's a limit on how many innings position players can pitch, but beyond PT limits (which wouldn't apply in series anyway) there are no limits on how you can use pitchers in the regular season.

Game 4: Both Nova and Sabathia started out shaky, but the Breakers used three homers to earn a 5-3 win.
Game 5: Robbie Erlin nearly went the distance in outdueling Stephen Matz 3-1.
Game 6: The Breakers routed Jhoulys Chacin and a slew of relievers 11-5 to sweep the home half. Kyle Schwarber hit two homers and drove in five.
